The Stories that Inspire Us

We were challenged to bring the new idea of Stories to life for the KitchenAid US brand. The brand wanted to bring its’ storytelling nature to the forefront – not another blog with a right rail full of content cards, but a unique experience to represent the content in an artful way that inspires their audience – the maker.

We delivered an MVP solution that is currently live, as we do some testing and gain a larger amount of content before launching a full homepage experience and deeper UX/UI improvements.

Un-compromised Storytelling

and User Experience

To be successful in inspiring creativity in the kitchen, we needed to inspire our teams with the tools they’ll need to creatively tell stories without handcuffs. User experience, premium-ness, and storytelling through a brand lens that cannot be compromised by restraints like limited components.

The solution was to create a custom theme in WordPress utilizing Elementor, to create custom components that could then be easily authored using the page builder.

Content

There are many contributors to the content – freelancers, brand partners, influencers, our internal Aisle Rocket team, etc. Knowing we will be serving a variety of content from many voices, we needed versatile templates to support all different lengths and types of content.

We introduced a base master template for most articles, as well as a more in-depth, experiential template for articles that have more invested into them, such as video content.
